This is a wonderful auction of Maine estate antiques featuring a Howard rooster weathervane, a snake foot dish top candlestand with strong Shaker influence, a Maine decorated red document box, and several other pieces of country furniture, hooked rugs and accessories from the early Bar Mills house, a yellow painted New Hampshire dressing table and five matching pieces made by David Whipple of Croydon, N.H.; Two outstanding Marine paintings, A Regency dining table with brass inlay, ex. ANTIQUE FURNITURE; A recent find of a 6 piece suite of yellow painted and decorated country furniture made by New Hampshire cabinet maker David Whipple of Croydon, includes a 31” w dressing table, black stenciled border with green banding with Sandwich glass pulls, rocking chair with grained seat, lady's rocker, side chair, pitcher and bowl, stand and cricket stool, signed with a D at dressing table back, with family provenance; Fine Philadelphia mahogany handkerchief tilt- top table with turned shaft, tripod base with rat's claw and egg feet; Dish top snake foot candlestand with strong Shaker influence, old finish; Fine Regency walnut dining table with 54” round top and decorative brass star inlay and banding at the skirt on four legs (291/2” h on casters), with custom extensions,- family provenance from collection of Cary Grant; Pair of mahogany snake two graduated tiered tables with snake feet (one has been custom made to match; Large Empire mahogany Butler’s desk with fold-down writing lid, compartmentalized interior, columnar sides and carved paw feet; 18th C stool with ball and ring turnings and flat stretcher base; Fine country Sheraton drop-leaf table with delicate elongated feet in old red varnish finish; Delicate mahogany Hepplewhite stand with round tilt-top, urn turned shaft and tripod base with spade feet; Late Hepplewhite country candlestand with old red painted surface; Pennsylvania dower chest with decorated panels; Mahogany drop-leaf Pembroke table with line inlay; Sea chest in old red; Sea chest originally belonging to Captain Otis B.
